About

Usaydh Agha is a visual artist, currently based in London, UK. His work focuses on the culture, history and iconography of South Asia and the modern “Orient”. Through his work he explores the history and politics of the region, the place and origin of violence in society, and the development of the diasporic identity. His work is both a response to classical western painting and the history of Orientalism.

Usaydh is a graduate of the Royal College of Art (MA Painting), prior to this he received his training through private tutelage, courses at the Florence Academy of Art and at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University where he completed his undergraduate degree (BA) in philosophy and political science. Prior to working as an artist, he trained and practiced as a lawyer and advocate.
